hijack yeartwo

Experimental rapper, producer and multi-media artist, G’Odd, and his freaky friends in Portland, Oregon have spent the past year hijacking the broadcasts of the local Cable Access TV networks. Yet the city, the nation…the world…has yet to understand the true importance of community media and the true potential of community. They still indulge in nausea inducing mainstream music and refuse to acknowledge the creative spirit as the starting point of human needs. Therefore, the hijacking must continue, and spread beyond Portland. It must exist and report upon not only the now, but the unrecognized past, that the future may be revealed. When they say “the Revolution will not be televised”, nonsense, it’s just on cable access. — For the past year, “Portland Cable Access Hijack” has highlighted interesting people, places and events from Portland’s music and arts community. It has a network within a network concept with multiple shows airing on a rotating basis. Some notable content of this initial run: - A recently emerged under-noticed “Weird Portland Rap” scene, spearheaded by the “Secret Society” and the collective organized by Washington DC artist Mental Stamina. -Open the Mic Up on “Reporting from Oddlandia”: covering a booming open mic scene going on in Portland. -Unique tv specials such as “Media is OUR Playground” and the documentary “The Sky Turned Purple” -The G’Oddyssey, telling the true story of G’Odd and his emergence, activities and conspirators Each week, airs 3 times, on 3 channels with a new episode every Monday Monday- ch 11-10pm Friday -ch 22- 10pm Sunday -ch 23-11pm More information media4hijack@gmail.com

The Fire Brigade saga as appearing in The G'Oddyssey movie series "To Go A Bridge Too Far" Amidst the confluence of events including the Covid shutdown, the abolish police protests and the decriminalization of drugs, Boxhead Walker assembles the most vulgar, deviant and bizarre rap group the city, perhaps the world has ever seen. They take on a mythic status when shortly after the release of their debut single, "When the Bomb Drops" an actual bomb hits Portland. G'Odd already having some instability and the growing sense of premonition that he will be responsible for the groups demise, becomes even more erratic after receiving a mystery package known only as "The Delivery". He becomes withdrawn from the group chosing to spend time with a few cohorts no one else seems to meet. He concocts a plan to contaminate the city's White Claw supply with a mind control drug to bring fame to The Fire Brigade. The group finds themselves in need of an escape plan, and they decide to tunnel to Mexico. Though the G'Oddyssey originates with the story of the Fire Brigade and the debut movie "To Go a Bridge Too Far" specifically with the video for the track "Bridge to Far" the movie is actually preceded by a short called "The Press Release". We see the beginning of the "persona", Abdullah the Butcher's efforts to take control of the group's studio and HQ, the 2105, while G'Odd frantically tries to have the release of the movie stopped. This effort was of course futile and the movie that, especially at that point in Portland history, would have got everybody involved canceled, doxed and worse. Originally released in Chapters, it could probably be considered 2 movies, with the first a sort of origin story, and the second half a more reflective, Portland based affair. The latter part of the movie also introduces what would be come the other main character of the series, opposite G'Odd, called simply the other. The full original, is a sprawling 4 hours, but does indeed bring the numerous sub-plots to clear conclusion. A couple of years after the original, G'Odd created the "International Edition", which brings it down to a manageable 2 hours and reduces some of the Portland-specific stuff to give the movie a little more universal appeal. There is also a third more obscure version, the "Phalluxe Edition" which was only made available to those purchasing the debut G'Odd solo album. It is mostly the first couple chapters with a few additional glimpses into how G'Odd came to be. It serves mostly as an introduction to the G'Odd story rather than all of the Fire Brigade. The movie features music from the Fire Brigade's debut album "Prosody" and also spawned a soundtrack album called "Need to Burn".
